Day 1
Arrival
On arrival, you will be met by your private chauffeur, who will transfer you from the airport to your hotel in Stockholm, where you are greeted with champagne and fresh fruit and chocolate. Stay in a luxury hotel in Stockholm.
Day 2
Stockholm - Sundbyholms Slott

Drive south to the pretty little town of Trosa and its beautiful archipelago, and visit the nearby 18th-century Tullgarn Castle, which features some of the most beautiful interiors from the era. Drive to Mariefred, where you can take a leisure ride on the train at Mariefred Railroad Museum, dating back to the end of the 19th century. A must-see is the 16th-century Gripsholms Castle; enjoy the art collection inside and the castle’s well-preserved interiors from different epochs. Stay two nights in this area, which is famous for its many castles and manor houses.
Day 3
Sigurd Rock Carving, Fiholm Castle and More

You will have the whole day to explore the many interesting sites in the area, one of which is the Sigurd rock carving, created over a millenium ago. Enjoy lunch or dinner at Sundbyholms Castle, which has an excellent kitchen. Visit the unfinished Fiholm Castle, of which only two wings were ever built, and explore Eskilstuna, where you will also find the 17th-century Rademacher blacksmith community.
Day 4
Sundbyholms Slott - Vadstena Kloster
If you like, you can visit the Kolmården International Zoo on your way south; we also recommend the detour to Gränna, a town famous for its sweet candy “polkagris”. Here you can see how this delicious treat is made and find your own favorite.
Dine at the Vadstena Slottshotell restaurant, housed in a 12th-century castle. The restaurant has a 700-year-old wine cellar, where you can taste exquisite wines in historic settings.
Day 5
Vadstena Kloster – Hennickehammars Herrgård

See the sights around the Vadstena Castle, the Cloister and the little 12th-century town itself. Stop in Borenshult by Göta Canal River, where the manually operated Borensberg lock is well worth a visit. Short cruises on the canal are offered in the area and are recommended, as is visiting the Finnstigen open-air museum, which shows the history of the Finn blacksmiths who lived and worked in the area from the 16th century. Stay the night at the cozy Hennickehammars Herrgård manor house.
Day 6
Hennickehammars Herrgård - Stockholm
Drive east toward Örebro and the open-air museum in Vadköping, with its beautiful old buildings and shops. On your journey back to the capital, you will visit Old Uppsala, probably the best-known historic site in Sweden because of the old Viking parliament and the Mounds. According to old Swedish mythology, it was the Viking gods Oden, Tor and Frej who made these mounds, although recent research has produced different theories. Stay the night at a first-class hotel in Stockholm.
Day 7

Transfer from Stockholm by Arlanda Express to Arlanda Airport. If your flight is on the afternoon spend some time for some last-minute shopping—a perfect way to end your holiday.
