Each year a unique new ICE HOTEL is created on the shore of the Torne river in Jukkasjärvi. In the little village far north of the Arctic Circle a team of snow builders, architects, designers and artists gather from every corner of the world. Together, under the guidance of the ICE HOTEL Art & Design group, they create this year’s incarnation of ICE HOTEL. It is a fascinating experience to watch ICE HOTEL take shape on location, and at the same time gives you an enviable insight into the special considerations that apply when designing, building and sculpting in snow and ice. In this region, nature’s manifestations shift with the succession of the seasons.

Take a leaf out of the river’s book: stop a while and take your time. Let your encounter with ICE HOTEL inspire warming thoughts about the nature of things and the eternal cycle of nature.

Itinerary:

Day 1

Stockholm

Arrive in Stockholm at Arlanda airport. We provide transfer to your hotel. Take some time to discover Stockholm on your own. Accommodation is in 3-4 star category hotels.

Day 2

Stockholm

After a delicious Scandinavian breakfast, get ready for a day full of adventure. Discover Stockholm at your own pace.

Unlimited travels on Stockholm’s public transport. You can reach all parts of the country by metro, bus and commuter train.

Free ferry to Djurgården
Combine business with pleasure; take the ferry from the city (Nybroplan) out to the museums, amusement parks and activities on Djurgården.The ferry is the fastest and most picturesque way to reach Junibacken, Vasa Museum, Skansen and Gröna Lund.

Free entry to selected musuems
By evening, get ready for a comfortable overnight journey by train to Lapland.

Day 3

Kiruna

Morning arrive in Kiruna and transfer to ICE HOTEL. Guided tour of ICE HOTEL begins in English at 1 PM. When you visit ICE HOTEL, you spend your day and night among fantastic sculptures created by highly skilled and often well-known artists to give you an entirely new experience. Prepare to let ICE HOTEL fill up your senses.

After a day of adventure, nightfall approaches quickly. The outdoor temperature drops and when you step inside ICE HOTEL, you feel a rush of warm air. Inside, the temperature is never colder than -5 °C to -8 °C, regardless of how cold it may be outside. It will soon be time to climb into bed. Dress in warm thermal underwear, put on a hat and slip into the cozy sleeping bag. Share the whole surrealistic ice-night with someone special. Let it be a night to remember.
